Children’s hospice forced to close as NHS funding falls

Grace’s Place, a children’s hospice in Bury, has been forced to close as the NHS funding was only covering a small amount of the hospice’s £1.2million yearly running costs. Luen Thompson, the chief executive of the hospice, has claimed NHS funding wasn’t enough and donations had fallen since Brexit fears have risen. In general, children’s hospices only get on average 21% of their funding from the NHS-a 6% fall over five years.
