Protest to mark eight months of no 24/7 A&E

The Protect Our NHS North Somerset group meets monthly atWeston General Hospital to mark the ward’s temporary overnight closure, which began on July 4.

Its spokesman said: “We are particularly concerned by the now eight-month overnight closure of Weston’s A&E, and the impact on local people and neighbouring hospitals.

“We are inviting everyone to come to our demonstration to find out more about the underfunding of the NHS.”

“We hope from these discussions our well-meaning fellow citizens who support the Conservatives come to realise its political choices do have consequences, and will press the Government to change course towards a more sustainable NHS.”

Snow meant Friday’s protest was delayed.
