Funding body for Cambridge IVFs told by health department cutting NHS IVF treatment is “not acceptable”

People have been campaigning against the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) following plans to cut NHS-funded IVF treatment. The campaigners were not hopeful that the CCG would continue putting money into the IVF treatment that would be free under the NHS to people with fertility problems. The Department of Health and Social Care wrote a letter to the CCG saying “it is not acceptable to offer no routine access to fertility treatment”. Following this, MP Jackie Doyle Price told the CCG that they should be following NICE fertility guidelines and working towards a more equal system.
