Desperate Weston GP surgery handed over £1 million in NHS funding

Two Weston surgeries have been given £1.4 billion NHS funding between them as their financial situation is in a ‘mess’. The surgeries are less than a mile apart and cater for nearly 5,000 patients – a lot of these are elderly. Clarence park surgery and Graham Road Surgery are run by Pier Health Group Limited (a new provider) – Clarence Park’s services are temporarily running from Graham Road. The provider is trying to reduce footfall at both surgeries by increasing use of digital and phone services. At present Clarence Park surgery does not have a doctor.
