Centre providing movement therapy in Shropshire loses NHS funding

The Movement Centre in Gobowen is based at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital and helps children born with conditions such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, etc. to help their movement abilities. In 2018, The Movement Centre received £50,000 from the NHS – this allowed them to treat just 20 out of their 74 patients – but they now receive no NHS funding at all. In July 2019, the charity were informed they could not apply for funding from Stafford and Surrounds, Cannock Chase, East Staffordshire and South East Staffordshire and Seisdon Peninsular CCGs.

Supporters who have seen the benefits from the centre first hand and those who merely admire their work are amongst those fundraising for the charity to stay afloat.
