NHS plan for North Somerset still ‘incomplete’ as details lacking

Health and council bosses have held preliminary talks to discuss an ‘incomplete’ plan which aims to transform healthcare in North Somerset, saying ‘the detail is still to come’.

A sustainability and transformation plan (STP) has been created by NHS organisations in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. It details how millions of pounds will be saved and creates a five-year vision for sustainable healthcare.

Ambitions include a 30 per cent reduction in hospital admissions and a higher focus on community care, as well as reduced duplication of services across the area.

North Somerset Council’s health overview and scrutiny panel met on Monday to discuss the STP.
