Health and council bosses have held preliminary talks to discuss an ‘incomplete’ plan which aims to transform healthcare in North Somerset, saying ‘the detail is still to come’.
A sustainability and transformation plan (STP) has been created by NHS organisations in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. It details how millions of pounds will be saved and creates a five-year vision for sustainable healthcare.
Ambitions include a 30 per cent reduction in hospital admissions and a higher focus on community care, as well as reduced duplication of services across the area.
North Somerset Council’s health overview and scrutiny panel met on Monday to discuss the STP.
