Lincoln MP Karen Lee is calling for Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt to review the decision to shut the city’s walk-in health centre over fears that A&E will be swamped by extra patients.

The NHS nurse warns that the additional GP appointments being promised will not prevent more pressure being put on A&E.

Lincolnshire West Clinical Commission Group’s governing body took the decision to close the facility in Monks Road at a meeting on Thursday, January 24.

Opening times will be slashed from Monday, February 5, with the site only open at weekends before it closes for good on February 25.
