Health bosses adamant no plans to close George Eliot A&E

HEALTH chiefs are adamant they have no firm plans to close Hinckley’s nearest casualty department.

An insider tip-off on sweeping changes to services at Nuneaton’s George Eliot Hospital sent shockwaves through local communities last week.

However, NHS bosses say no proposals are yet in place let alone decisions having been made on A&E or maternity services.

Consultation on how future care across Coventry and Warwickshire might look like up to 2020 will take place next year.

NHS England has called for a national review in the face of £30 billion budget blackhole.
