GPs shut out of plan for NHS cuts in Coventry and Warwickshire

GPs were shut out of the controversial NHS shake-up in Coventry and Warwickshire and a city MP says the plans are “masking cuts”.

Coventry Local Medical Committee (LMC) blasted NHS bosses on the eve of the release of the blueprint that could see sweeping cutbacks.

Coventry and Warwickshire LMCs, which are the statutory representatives of GPs, were said to be “very concerned” such a “major player in health care” has been “expressly excluded” from the bid being put together.

The Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP) for Coventry and Warwickshire will be unveiled on Tuesday but the Telegraph has exclusively revealed its impact today.
