Death knell for two Gloucestershire hospitals as they will be replaced by £11million new facility – but campaigners say it’s not over yet

NHS bosses have delivered a death knell to two hospitals in the Forest of Dean – but have also agreed to build an £11million facility in their place.

Gloucestershire NHS chiefs have today unanimously agreed to close Lydney and District General Hospital and Dilke Memorial Hospital in Cinderford. They have also voted to build a new community hospital in the Forest to replace the two outgoing services.
