Councillors to discuss closure of NHS walk in centre at public meeting

Discussions are taking place about the future of two NHS services in Lincolnshire.

Councillors are considering their response to proposals that Lincoln’s walk in centre should close at a public meeting.

NHS Lincolnshire West Clinical Commissioning Group is considering closing the service as it duplicates existing services.

Lincolnshire County Council’s scrutiny committee has said it is concerned about the impact the closure could have on the city.

The public meeting, which residents are invited to, will be held at the Alive church in Newland at 6pm.

A consultation has been launched by the CCG and has also been extended until Friday, August 18, to make sure as many people get the chance to have their say as possible.

Grantham‘s A&E is also set to stay closed overnight for another three months.
