NHS chiefs refuse to say if they will be robbing Cinderford to pay Lydney

NHS chiefs are refusing to say if they are planning to cut service at the Dilke Memorial Hospital in Cinderford so they can man a new state of the art X-Ray machine in Lydney.

Dame Janet Trotter has unveiled a new £200,000 X-Ray unit at Lydney Hospital even though NHS chiefs admitted they did not have the staff to run the new suite which was paid for with a £120,000 cheque from The Friends of Lydney Hospital.

Now sources close to the NHS claim X-Ray provision at the historic miners’ memorial hospital in Cinderford is about to be scaled down when the minor injuries unit at the hospital re-opens after a six week makeover.
