Health and social care bosses in Suffolk and north Essex have clubbed together to make a multimillion pound series of funding bids to help overcome “huge challenges”.
Organisations involved in the Suffolk and North Essex Sustainability Transformation Plan – a radical redesign of services in the region to help overcome vast financial and cultural pressures – have submitted the bids to NHS England.
The money would be used to support services for mental health, learning difficulties, diabetes and cancer.
Leaders say the bids show how health and social care organisations can work together over the next five years to cope with the challenges ahead.
Richard Watson, chief redesign officer for the Ipswich and East Suffolk and West Suffolk clinical commissioning groups, said: “It was excellent to see the whole system working together to make bids for this non-recurrent funding
