Campaigners battling a takeover of Hinchingbrooke Hospital by the Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust say they are “shocked” by the appointment of the board which will run the combined hospitals.
Members of Hands off Hinchingbrooke say the new board is top heavy in favour of Peterborough representatives and that the Huntingdon area would lose out.
Rob Gardiner, from the group, said: “We are very disappointed. We are shocked by it.”
He said that just three of the 16-strong board, which takes over next April, were associated with Hinchingbrooke and the bulk came from the Peterborough and Stamford trust.
