The upgrade programme that’s being announced by Boris Johnson includes a government list of 20 hospitals to be funded. The two hospitals receiving the most funding are Royal Cornwall hospitals NHS trust – receiving £99.9 million to build a new women and children’s hospital in the centre of the Royal Cornwall hospital site in Truro – and Luton and Dunstable University hospital NHS Foundation Trust – who are receiving £99.5 million for a new building block in Luton that is going to be the site of critical and intensive care, along with a delivering suite and operating theatres.
